After a first EP in 2018 — six tracks in French and Spanish including Le Monde s’est dédoublé [The World Split in Two] — Clara Ysé made her mark in 2023 with Oceano Nox (Tôt Ou Tard, 2023), a bold album written and composed by her, co-produced with Ambroise Willaume (Sage) and mixed by Renaud Letang. Since childhood, her singular voice has been shaped by violin, singing, nocturnal improvisations, and collaborative choirs. Her universe blends Greek rebetiko, electronic rhythms, reggaeton, shimmering textures, and brass, influenced by figures such as Rosalía, Björk, Janis Joplin, and Mercedes Sosa. Vulnerable yet powerful, Clara Ysé enters French chanson as a conqueror, giving words poetic strength. Also a writer, she published the novel Mise à feu [Setting on Fire] (Grasset, 2021), the collection Vivante [Alive] (Seghers, 2024), and will release Des lances entre les phalanges [Spears Between the Phalanges] (Seghers, 2025) in October.
