Daniela Rațiu is a Romanian writer and journalist, born in Brașov. A member of PEN Romania, she has worked for numerous national media outlets. She has published several novels, poetry, and plays, and has received numerous prestigious awards in her country. With Un train pour la fin du monde [A Train to the End of the World] (translated from Romanian by Florica Courriol, October 2025, Grasset), she delivers a poignant book inspired by her family history: a heartrending fresco of human survival and resilience, as well as a moving testimony to the capacity to hope. The book resonates deeply with the current war in Ukraine, the homeland of the author’s grandfather.
