Mihaela Moldovan is an artist living in Bucharest who works with interlacing as a method and color as a sculptural form. A visual artist, she is a member of the Malmaison Studios community as well as Group 28, a collective dedicated to exploring representations and experiences of women in art. She graduated from the National University of Arts in Bucharest, holding a bachelor’s degree in textile arts and textile design, and a master’s in visual arts. She creates textile objects that are both malleable forms, dressing existing structures such as hay bales, or elaborate nets made of threads or ropes. She also incorporates paper-cutting methods inspired by craft workshops from her childhood.
