Born in 1984, Arjun Talwar is a film director and director of photography of Indian origin. After studying mathematics, he joined the cinematography department at the National Film School in Łódź, Poland. His early documentaries, including Where I Can’t Be Found – which won an award at the New Horizons International Film Festival in 2014 – and Habitat, have been screened at several international festivals, notably Visions du Réel and Tampere. In 2018, he directed his first feature-length documentary, A Donkey Called Geronimo, which premiered at the DOK Leipzig festival. Having lived in Poland for over a decade, Talwar’s work explores themes of belonging, exile, identity and one’s relationship with place. In 2025, he directed Letters from Wolf Street, for which he also wrote the screenplay and served as director of photography; the film had its world premiere at the 2025 Berlinale, in the Panorama section.
