LONELY SHADOWS

Dominik Wania, a leading jazz pianist on the Polish scene and winner of five Fryderyk Awards, made his name in particular alongside the legendary jazz musician Tomasz Stańko. His musical world lies at the crossroads of jazz and European classical music, drawing inspiration from composers such as Górecki, Szymanowski, Ravel, Prokofiev, Scriabin and Satie. Lonely Shadows is the very first solo album by a Polish musician to be released by ECM Records, one of the world’s most prestigious labels. For this performance, he offers a largely improvised musical journey, in which classical influences interact with his jazz language and the sonic explorations developed in his solo work.
