Founded in 2007 by Jean-Marc Daviet (trombone) and Jean-Marie Paraire (percussion), the Lemanic Modern Ensemble passionately champions the modern and contemporary repertoires. From its early years, it has collaborated with renowned conductors: William Blank joined the ensemble shortly after its creation, followed by Pierre Bleuse (2016–2023). Since September 2023, the musical direction has been led by Dylan Corlay. A cross-border ensemble based between Annemasse and Geneva, the LME performs regularly in these cities, as well as in Aix-en-Provence and Paris. Invited to prestigious festivals such as Archipel, Musiques en Scène, Shanghai New Music Week, the Venice Biennale, and the Avignon Festival, the ensemble has been praised for the excellence of its performances.
An active promoter of new music, the LME collaborates with composers including Michael Jarrell, Sofia Avramidou, Stefano Gervasoni, and Ivan Fedele, among others. It has also worked with conductors such as Jean Deroyer, Bruno Mantovani, and Julien Leroy, and with soloists including Emmanuel Pahud, Diana Tishchenko, Tedi Papavrami, Cédric Pescia, Marina Viotti, Véronique Gens, Cristina Branco, Fanny Ardant, and Lambert Wilson.
