SENSITIVE TOPOGRAPHIES

Five major voices of contemporary Romanian art aim to reveal and interrogate the particularities of the visual arts scene in Bucharest. Radu Belcin creates strange universes where routine is disrupted by unexpected associations. Mircea Cantor, winner of the Marcel Duchamp Prize, combines film, drawing, and sculpture to transform everyday life into metaphors of freedom and the human condition. Mihaela Moldovan weaves colors, textiles, and childhood memories into malleable, poetic structures. Dan Perjovschi, through his satirical drawings on paper or walls, keenly scrutinizes current political and social events. Finally, Dan Vezentan revisits the agricultural and livestock memories of his childhood through a singular visual language. A meeting at the crossroads of memory, engagement, and visual experimentation.
