Olivier Martinaud is an actor and director. Trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique under Éric Ruf and Joël Jouanneau, he directed Le Nom [The Name] by Jon Fosse (CNSAD, 2002) and Imbécile [Imbecile], a musical comedy by Olivier Libaux (Café de la Danse, 2007).With his company, he created Erich von Stroheim by Christophe Pellet (Forbach, 2010), Mes prix littéraires [My Literary Prizes] by Thomas Bernhard with Claude Aufaure (La Loge, 2012), and Les Inquiets et les brutes [The Restless and the Brutes] by Nis-Momme Stockmann (Lucernaire, 2015). He has performed texts by Alban Lefranc, Stéphanie Chaillou, and Aiat Fayez. In cinema, he played the lead role in Notre histoire [Our Story] by Vincent Dietschy and worked with directors Roberto Andò, Vincent Dieutre, Thomas Blanchard, and Charlotte Pouyaud. He has recorded numerous texts for France Culture, lent his voice to Arte, the Centre Pompidou, and about twenty audiobooks. He presents readings at the Maison de la Poésie, as well as at festivals and museums. With Joana Preiss, he performed Dialogues entre Marguerite Duras et Jean-Luc Godard [Dialogues between Marguerite Duras and Jean-Luc Godard]. At the Villa Médicis, he recently performed La Maison de Julien Gracq [Julien Gracq’s House], a project he is preparing with musician Nicolas Repac.
