Anca Tudorancea (Ciuciu) is a lecturer at the Center for Hebrew Studies at the University of Bucharest and a researcher and scientific secretary at the Center for the Study of the History of Jews in Romania – “Wilhelm Filderman,” of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Romania. Her works and studies focus on the history of Bucharest’s Jewish neighborhoods, the image and imagination of Jewish Bucharest, family photography and photographers, as well as the Jewish community in Romania during the 19th and 20th centuries. Among her recent publications are In the Footsteps of Jacques Elias: Documents, Images, and Testimonies of a Forgotten History (with Felicia Waldman, Bucharest, Romanian Academy Editions, 2023) and Visual Codes: The Imaginary of Jewish Bucharest (University of Bucharest Editions, 2021 – 1st ed., Hasefer Editions, 2013).
