MUSICAL READING BY CLARA YSÉ AND GAËL RAKOTONDRABE
An exceptional musical reading of texts by Paul Celan, performed by Clara Ysé, sharing the stage with pianist and composer Gaël Rakotondrabe, whose free and sensitive playing responds to the expressive impulses of her voice. Together, they weave a shared language around poetry. With her debut album Oceano Nox (Tôt Ou Tard), Clara Ysé established a striking first record, driven by texts of rare intensity. Also a writer, she has published the novel Mise à feu [Setting Fire] (Grasset) and the poetry collections Vivante [Alive] (Seghers) and Des lances entre les phalanges [Spears Between the Phalanges] (Seghers), from which she will read selected passages. Her voice, both vulnerable and magnetic, transcends genres to open a singular expressive territory.
Gaël Rakotondrabe, pianist and improviser, develops a hybrid sonic universe where experimentation meets intimacy. Winner of the Montreux Jazz Festival, and collaborator with CocoRosie, Anohni, and Marina Abramović, he pursues an audacious artistic approach, embodied in his album Shadow (Caramba Records / Virgin Universal).
