Ion Grigorescu, born in 1945 in Bucharest, is a major figure of Romanian conceptual art and a pioneer of anti-art. Since 1967, he has blended art and everyday life, addressing themes such as the body, sexuality, landscape, and politics under both communist and capitalist regimes. He works across film, photography, performance, drawing, and collage, exploring the limits of representation and artistic engagement.
