CLOSING EVENT — THE BIRD OF A THOUSAND VOICES : TIGRAN HAMASYAN

Virtuoso explorer of contemporary jazz and rock, pianist and composer Tigran Hamasyan presents The Bird of a Thousand Voices (Concert Version), a new creation steeped in Armenian culture and global folklore. Revealed in his adolescence, Hamasyan quickly rose to prominence in the contemporary jazz scene. Using traditional music as his material, he builds a dream-dominated world that is profoundly cinematic.
Hamasyan cultivates an innovative and fluid musical language, deeply rooted in the traditional repertoire of his native Armenia. Often compared to Keith Jarrett for his captivating performances, he reaches high levels of intensity on stage. In passionate dialogue with three other musicians and a singer with an angelic voice, he unfolds a new piece, The Bird of a Thousand Voices, inspired by an ancient Armenian tale that conveys a universal call to spiritual awakening. This approach breaks down barriers and borders, delivering music that is in direct touch with emotion, supported by a compelling interpretation.
