THE PLACE OF VISUAL ARTS IN YEREVAN

What does the contemporary art scene in Yerevan represent today? Where are contemporary paintings, sculptures, and photographs exhibited? What movements influence today’s aesthetics? To answer these questions, three emblematic artists with rich and versatile careers: Nazik Armenakyan, an internationally renowned photographer and co-founder of the documentary photography center 4Plus; Karén Khachaturov, a photographer of the imaginary, whose pastel works depict hybrid characters; and painter Khachatur Martirosyan, a master of Armenian non-figurative art and black and white.
