AN ORIGINAL ORIGIN
Sophie Fontanel and Vahram Muratyan were both born in Paris to Armenian families. Sophie Fontanel, journalist and writer, evoked her roots in La Vocation (Robert Laffont, 2016) through the story of her Armenian immigrant family, fascinated by French elegance. Vahram Muratyan, a graphic designer known for his famous visual book Paris versus New York (10-18, 2011) and creative director for three French publishing houses, discovered Armenia at the dawn of its post-Soviet independence. Twenty years later, they collaborated on a report about Yerevan for a magazine, an opportunity for them to reflect on their origins and artistic journeys.
