BLOT, BY SIMONA DEACONESCU
At the intersection of lecture and choreography, Blot explores movement in relation to the bacteria inhabiting our bodies. The piece presents the body as an interconnected ecosystem, fragile yet powerful, traversed by sweat, effort, immunity, smell, and reproduction – all processes influenced by the invisible. Performed by two female artists, Simona-Elena Dabija and Maria Luiza Dimulescu, the performance offers a sensitive dialogue with the microbial world and questions the boundaries between dependence and control, usefulness and toxicity. It invites reflection on our relationship with the environment and how we share a common choreography with living beings. Romanian choreographer Simona Deaconescu, founder of Tangaj Collective and two-time recipient of the Aerowaves Artist program, continues her exploration between fiction and reality, nature and technology.
