THE RIGHT DISTANCE: ITINERARY OF SERGE AVÉDIKIAN
From a family shaken by the tumult of history, Serge Avédikian is a French actor and director of Armenian descent. He is known for his roles in Le Pull-over rouge (Michel Drach, 1979), Aram (Robert Kéchichian, 2002), Le voyage en Arménie (Robert Guédiguian, 2005), Poulet aux prunes (Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud), and J’irai où tu iras (Géraldine Nakache). As a director, he is credited with works such as Lettre à Péléchian (2012) and Celui qu’on attendait (2015). Throughout his journey, he claims to have engaged in a work of remembrance regarding his roots, having found the "right distance" between his Armenian and French identities. He creates animated films, documentaries, and fiction, and regularly works as an actor. He will present a poetic tribute to Manouchian as part of the festival.
