CONCERT BY HOVER STATE CHAMBER CHOIR
The Hover State Chamber Choir, part of the Armenian National Center for Chamber Music, offers musical innovations in a wide range of styles, from a cappella to collaborations with other art forms. Performing internationally in prestigious concert halls, the choir regularly collaborates with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra. Led by its founder, artistic director, and conductor Sona Hovhannisyan, this concert will highlight Armenian composers such as Mkhitar Ayrivanetsi, Tigran Mansuryan, and Edgar Hovhannisyan, as well as works by international composers. The works of Komitas, central to the program, will include excerpts from the Armenian liturgy and folk songs, and will be paired with the choral theatrical performance The Parallel by Anna Azizyan.
The concert will be preceded by a reading of an excerpt from the book In the ruins by actress Tatiana Spivakova.
Free admission, subject to availability.
