Pinar Selek

Born in 1971 in Istanbul, Pinar Selek is a sociologist, feminist, and pacifist activist. Her work and activism focus on the rights of minorities and the marginalized in the Turkish Republic. Falsely accused of an terrorist attack that never took place in July 1998, her life was turned upside down by an incredible judicial quagmire, the repercussions of which continue more than twenty years later, despite four acquittals. Pinar Selek has been in exile in France since 2011, where she continues her academic career in Nice. She recently published Parce qu’ils sont arméniens (Liana Levi, 2023) and Le Chaudron militaire turc - Un exemple de production de la violence masculine (Des femmes-Antoinette Fouque, 2023).
