Arevik Arevshatyan

Arevik Arevshatyan, born in 1957 in Yerevan, is an artist and independent exhibition curator. She graduated from the Yerevan Institute of Fine Arts in 1984. Her works are exhibited at the Contemporary Art Museum of Armenia and in private collections. Arevik Arevshatyan lives and works in Yerevan. Although she is primarily a painter, she also creates objects that she transforms according to her imagination, incorporating phrases and epithets that serve as metaphors for her concerns, as well as enigmas to be deciphered.
Eight Thoughts is a "black box", a cosmetics box. Inside, there are black cushions with inscriptions in Greek that connect ancient philosophy and the early days of Christianity : thoughts that accompany her in her daily life.
