Born in 1975 in Yerevan, Tigran Sahakyan lives and works in Yerevan. He graduated from the Panos Terlemezyan Academy, specializing in painting, engraving, and ceramics. In 2024, he was an artist-in-residence at the IDEM art printing house in Paris as part of the MENK project, supported by the Friends of Idem and the IFA - French Institute of Armenia, where he produced the works presented for “Week-end à l’Est”.
The three works presented were created using the intaglio printing technique (etching, aquatint, reserve). They depict crosses of various shapes and sizes in an imaginary cemetery where soldiers who died in the two wars Armenia experienced in 1991 and 2020 are buried.
