Garush Melkonyan

Graduating from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2017 and the San Francisco Art Institute in 2016, Garush Melkonyan (1993) is a visual artist who works with moving images, installations, and sculptures.
His most recent works challenge conventional communication methods and the limits of language, exposing the absurdity of human interactions.
In Visionaries, the artist uses Lithophanes, a precursor to cinematic techniques, allowing the viewer to see images on a porcelain plate that were previously invisible. Composed of various pre-existing photographs that form a series united by similar bodily postures, these works create a mise-en-abyme of the images presented.
