Arpi Alto

Arpi Alto, born Arpine Ter-Petrosyan, is a singer, songwriter, musician, performer and record producer from Armenia. From a young age, she was exposed to a diverse and eclectic mix of musical influences, ranging from traditional Armenian folk songs to classical music, passing by jazz and pop. She received training as a pianist and earned her master’s degree in 2016.

During the winter of 2019/2020, Arpi began experimenting solo work outside of musical ensembles, including jazz and bossa nova classics as well as traditional Armenian folk songs. She gained a significant audience after her covers of world-famous hits went viral on social media. Thanks to the success of her covers of “The Girl From Ipanema” and “The Way You Look Tonight” her YouTube channel reached over 5 million views.

Following “The Girl From Ipanema”, she interpreted other songs, including “Mas Que Nada”, her first song sung in Portuguese, as well as “Close to You” and “We’ve Only Just Begun”, classics from the Carpenters, “She” from Charles Aznavour and “Fields of Gold” from Sting. In 2021, Arpi Alto released her Armenian album “My soul in the mountains” a fusion of Armenian folk songs and jazz pieces. In 2022, she released several songs for the album “Para o Meu Amor”, combining her passion for bossa nova, jazz and Armenian folk melodies.
